PADMAVATI: KARNI SENA THREATENS TO CUT DEEPIKA'S NOSE

PADMAVATI CONTROVERSY: KARNI SENA THREATENS TO CUT DEEPIKA'S NOSE Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is all set to release on December 1st and we can’t wait to watch it. Padmavati and controversies have become synonyms for each other. The movie helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. t Karni Sena member threatened to chop off actress Deepika Padukone's nose amid a call for "Bharat Bandh" (shutdown) on December 1 when the film is slated for pan-India release. Karni Sena member threatened to chop off actress Deepika Padukone's nose amid a call for "Bharat Bandh" (shutdown) on December 1 when the film is slated for pan-India release.

Before the release, Karni Sena members have been vandalizing theatres and multiplexes calling for a bandh. Stooping low, the Karni Sena Chief, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, has now warned the makers against the release and have even threatened to chop off Deepika Padukone's nose. Earlier on Thursday, Shri Rajput Karni Sena member Mahipal Singh Makrana said in a self-made video that "Rajputs never raise a hand on women but if need be, we will do to Deepika what Lakshman did to Shurpanakha".

Shri Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi also said at a press conference that they will call for a "Bharat bandh" on December 1. "We will gather in lakhs, our ancestors wrote history with blood we will not let anyone blacken it; we will call for Bharat bandh on December 1," Kalvi said.

These comments from the Sena group has come after Deepika in a recent interview said that no one can stop Padmavati's release.

"It's appalling, it's absolutely appalling. What have we gotten ourselves into? And where have we reached as a nation? We have regressed," she said. "The only people we are answerable to is the censor board, and I know and I believe that nothing can stop the release of this film," said Deepika, adding that the film industry's support symbolises how "this is not about 'Padmavati'... We're fighting a much bigger battle".
