Read MoreCentral Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against 189 accused including public servants, private persons and firms in connection with irregularities in implementation of various works worth 407 crore rupees relating to Gomti River Channelization Project and Gomti River Front Development Project in Uttar Pradesh. The CBI has registered the case on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government and further Notification from Government.
The agency in a statement said that searches were conducted yesterday at around 40 locations in this regard. It includes Lucknow, Sitapur, Raebareilly, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Agra in Uttar Pradesh and Alwar in Rajasthan and Kolkata at the premises of accused including the then Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineer and the then Assistant Engineer and the private contractors and firms. During searches, incriminating documents have been recovered by the CBI.
