Read MoreKarnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to launch the Bengaluru Suburban railway project. He was speaking to the media persons after inspecting the progress of the project in Bengaluru yesterday.
The project is being implemented at an estimated cost of 15,767 crore rupees to be shared between Karnataka State Government, Ministry of Railways and external funding. The state Government has released 400 crore rupees as its contribution during 2020-21. The Sub-urban railway project will cover 148 kilometers with four corridors connecting Bengaluru International Airport, Baiyyapanahalli, Whitefield and Rajanakunte.
