Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence in Mumbai, and while the post-mortem reports have confirmed that the Kedarnath actor died due to hanging. Following his demise, netizens vented out their anger on selected celebrities after reports emerged that Sushant was let down by many people in Bollywood. Some also claimed that issues in his personal life led the actor to take the extreme step.

Soon, the internet is flooded with angry comments for the likes of Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor. So much so that the Bollywood celebrities limited comments on their Instagram accounts. Rhea Chakraborty, who was rumoured to be dating the actor also received harsh comments on her social media posts. Amid such anger, Rhea has also disabled comments on her Instagram posts. Post Sushant’s death, fans of the actor in Bihar have filed a petition before a court in Bihar accusing actress Rhea Chakraborty of having abetted the deceased actor's suicide. As per reports, Kundan Kumar, a resident of Patahi locality in Muzaffarpur, filed his petition before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar. Well, this is the second petition filed before the CJM''s court in the north Bihar town of Muzaffarpur in connection with the suicide of the Patna-born actor, as earlier a case was filed against Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan.

Grieving over his son's sudden death, Sushant Singh Rajput's father stated that he always shared his struggles with him and this was the only time he didn't know about what was happening with Sushant. He also revealed that the last conversation he had with Sushant Singh Rajput was about his marriage. The actor's father confirmed that he was looking forward to getting married in early 2021. Sushant Singh Rajput did not wish to get married amidst the Coronavirus crisis and was waiting for his film Dil Bechara's release.
