Read MoreOdisha government has allowed further relaxation in the lockdown norms. Briefing the press this afternoon, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, chief secretary of state said that the partial lockdown will be extended beyond tomorrow till the morning of 16th July.
AIR correspondent reports, for the purpose of lockdown relaxation the Odisha Government has identified 20 districts as category A with a test positivity rate below 5% and ten districts, mostly coastal, as category B, having a positivity beyond 5 percent.
While all the shops excluding certain categories like malls and spa can now open in category A districts from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week, shops in the category B districts will have to down their shutters at 2:00 p.m. on weekdays. They will also face weekend shutdown as before.
However, the entire state will continue to be under night curfew between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Odisha has been either in full or partial lockdown mode since the 5th of May last with multiple extensions, this time till the 16th of next month.
