Read MoreThe nepotism debate that sparked in Bollywood post Sushant Singh Rajput's death, spilled over to the music industry after Sonu Nigam accused music labels of not being fair to artists and musicians. Bushan Kumar's wife and director, Divya Khosla Kumar, has hit back at Sonu Nigam after the singer accused the Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series of targeting him for calling out mafia in the music industry. Divya has called Sonu "thankless" as she said that it was T-Series that give him a break in the industry.
Divya Khosla Kumar took to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Today, it's all about who can run a good campaign... I'm even seeing people being able to sell lies & deceits with their strong campaign... #sonunigam such kind of people know how to play with the minds of the audience..... God save our world!!! (sic)."
In her next story, she wrote, "#sonunigam ji TSeries ne aapko industry mein break Diya... aapko itna aage badaya.... agar aapko itni hi khundas thi Bhushan se toh phele kyun nahi bole... Aaj publicity ke liye kyon kar rahe hai... Aapke pitaji ke khud maine intne videos direct kiye jiseko liye woh Hamesha itne shukar guzar rehte thee... But some people r thankless #achasiladiyatunemerepyaarka (Sonu Nigam, T-Series helped you flourish in your career. If you had so much problem with Bhushan, why didn’t you say it earlier? Why are you doing this for publicity? I have directed your many videos for your father and he had always been so thankful for it.) (sic)."On Monday, Sonu Nigam, in a video, accused Bhushan Kumar of targetting him after the singer said that there's a bigger mafia in the music industry. In the video, Sonu Nigam can be seen saying, "I didn't take anyone's name. I just asked very politely that please be kind to newcomers in the industry. But mafia will play their tricks. They asked people to give interviews against me. They sent press releases to organisations, writing against me. Some of these six people who have given interviews against me are close to me. For years, they have been talking about the unfairness in the music industry to me, but now they are speaking a different language."
Sonu Nigam also shared an old tweet by singer Armaan Malik in which he wrote against the music industry. Targetting Bhushan Kumar, Sonu said, "Bhushan Kumar tune galat aadmi se panga liya hai. Tu bhool gaya woh time jab tu mere ghar aake bolta tha, 'Bhai bhai mere album kardo, Deewana kar do, Smita Thackeray se milwa do. Bhai Bal Thackeray se milwa do. Bhai don Abu Salem se bacha lo.' Yaad hain ye sab cheeze?"
Singers Adnan Sami and Alisha Chinai have now spoken up against the monopoly in the music industry. Adnan said that new talents are being exploited and their creativity is being controlled. He also spoke against the trend of remakes and remixes in a long post on Instagram.
